Fees & Expenses in Personal Injury Cases
We handle all personal injury cases on a
contingent fee basis. Pursuant to the
Rules Regulating the Florida Bar, the amount of the fee will vary based on a number of factors, including the stage of the litigation, the amount of the recovery, and the costs involved. We do not charge a fee unless there is a recovery. Our fee will be a percentage of that recovery.
There are costs incurred in every case. Hospitals and doctors charge for medical records and reports; x-rays must be copied; expert witnesses must be paid; and court fees will be incurred. These costs are not anything the lawyer earns in the case and thus are not part of the contingent fee system. We do not require the client to pay for these costs unless there is a recovery in your case. When we meet we will discuss fees and costs with you in more detail. Periodically, we will also provide you with an update of the costs in your case.
